It was interesting to stay here but we felt more information would help. I think they could have given us some information about the temple, who lives or works there and how it functions. Also a look round the temple would have helped as what we felt was we were in a Japanese style room which could have been anywhere. There was an ‘efficient’ check in but certainly not a friendly greeting. Thankfully later on there were more friendly people at reception. The meals were beautifully presented but again a lack of information as we didn’t know what some of the things were or in which order it would be best to eat them. The ceremony in the morning was excellent but again a missed opportunity at the end to allow guests to look round as the doors were locked immediately afterwards. You have to pay quite a lot to stay here and as it’s a unique experience there should be more offered to make it different to just staying in a hotel.

Una experiencia muy buena. Muy limpio y amables. Cena vegetariana incluida muy abundante y desayuno también. Oración matutina incluida muy interesante. Cerca del bus. Una experiencia recomendable. Precio razonable comparado con el resto de la zona.

Очень понравилось пребывание. Крайне вкусный ужин, отличный вид на внутренний палисадничек, комфортные футоны, приятная баня. Доброжелательные хозяева места. Из непонятного, было странное про написание сутр, я не так себе это представляла, но тут может быть простое недопонимание из-за того, что я не владею языком.

Experiencia recomendable. Buen lugar, muy bonito y muy limpio. Ahora bien, la gastronomía vegana servida dista mucho de aquello a lo que estamos acostumbrados en occidente. Son platos muy visuales y originales pero poco atractivos a nuestro paladar.

The room was very spacious and traditional. The bathroom had a japanese bath which we appreciated very much. The monks were very welcoming and nice, they explained everything. We also attended the morning prayer at 7 am. Overall it was a great experience. The dinner and breakfast were delicious.

太讚了，房間看到庭院，透過窗戶往外看就很美。工作人員態度很好，還有會説中文的工作人員。西禪院在小路的邊上，非常安靜，特別在冬季，一點雜音都沒有。餐食不錯，住兩天，晚餐是不一樣的。第一天算是齋，有素的鰻魚和刺身。第二頓應該是純蔬菜的。個人喜歡第二頓。有早上的祈禱，收費的抄經，描佛像，和阿字觀冥想。地理位置方便，在理高野山大門不遠，可以乘巴士去奧之院，再一路往回走，不走回頭路。

距離空海弘法大師最近的地方——高野山。入住西禪院宿坊，位置緊鄰壇上伽藍。和式風格的客房在二樓，餐廳在一樓，早晚餐都是全素食的精進料理，有抄經活動可預約，早上7點可以在大殿聽僧人的早課。接待我們的是位姓李的中國女性，講流利的日語，我們五點半到達辦理入住，對方很不耐煩，嫌我們到的太晚了，耽誤她下班了，非常不符合日本的服務品質。沒有給我們介紹宿坊的內容，送到房間態度惡劣，問：“難道你們沒看到茶壺嗎？難道你沒有扇子嗎？”講話的姿態趾高氣昂，莫名其妙！好像我作為遊客需要預判宿坊會給我們什麼。因為這個，服務我給一顆星！

If you never try temple stay this is a must. Cons side u only bath once a day from 4pm to 8pm. With 4 person sharing the same bath tub. Upside the room given is so luxurious and night dining in room. But as this is temple expect all vegetarian.

This is a very nice place that enables one to participate in a Buddhist ceremony. Beautiful and heart opening.
